I discovered mechanical watches at the age of eight, observing a watchmaker repairing a complicated timepiece. The mechanics fascinated me and watchmaking became my focus early on in life. I taught myself the necessary skills of repair by reading books and dismantling various movements. After several years working on repairs and restorations, I decided to move on. At thirteen, I started work on the Project One— my first watch. It took two years to complete and was the beginning of JS Elliott.
